Houghton and Huntingdon RC hosted the British Riding Clubs Area 7 Outdoor Dressage Qualifiers

On the 7th July 2019, Houghton and Huntingdon RC hosted the British Riding Clubs Area 7 Outdoor Dressage Qualifiers at Home Farm, Alconbury.

This popular event took place on a beautiful hot day where 250 tests took place. Competitors produced some fantastic tests and the judges were very impressed with the standard of riding.

The majority of riders produced two tests, one of which is unique to the Riding Clubs, called ‘The Riding Test’. ‘The Riding Test’ is a dressage test, where members compete and are judged on a rider ability and not scored in the usual dressage format. The sections judged include harmony with your horse and tranquility with your horse. Percentage scores are usually between 85-97%!. At the event clubs throughout the area qualified for the NAF National Championships that took place the first weekend in September at Lincoln Showground.Rebecca Robinson from Houghton and Huntingdon RC told Northants Horse Trader Magazine “It was so lovely to see true team spirit throughout the day, everyone helping each other, It really was a fantastic day! “I would like to say a special thank you to the trade stands that attended and supported our event including The Gin Kitchen and Mini Me Tack Shop along with the event photographer, Tess Cadman Country Photography.”
